Sweat probably entered the product and made it corrode as there was other nastiness in there too. I'm guessing that the seal on the battery cover is not great. I do not have high hopes due to other complaints. If the support team sends me a new cover, I'll change my review. For the love of all that is holy, sell replacement parts instead of sending things to the dump. It is a little bit of plastic that is already in mass production. I dislike disposable electronics and I find this to be reprehensible as a consumer. Multiple people have posted that Wahoo does not sell replacement covers. I have a support request to see if I can get a replacement cover. Once I replaced the battery, the cover would not close securely so there is no signal to my bike computer. I found out that it was one of the cover attachment pins. While taking off the battery cover with a coin a bit of plastic fell out. I recently purchased one for my spouse (and I wish I hadn't) and I purchased my first one in February 2022. I had to change the battery on my Wahoo TICKR. UPDATE: The Wahoo customer service sent me a replacement cover, so we're good! I don't know why my experience was different than other folks, but I'm glad it was.
